Sing 2015

As this is a new version from one of their most famous song, I was really excited to what changes they made. Thankfully, playing it live on those streaming videos helped them get the best version. I like how it started as in the FreeBit CM with acapella solos. And the constant finger snapping as in their videos, so if you have heard the latest live version of the song, it will be almost the same. I like the notable changes and lowering the speed in Shuuhei’s solo making it more enjoyable. That was the most unexpected part since the first time I heard the song, but damn it was clever and so cool. This song has everything, cool solos, cool harmonies, emotion. Goose House had this amazing song since way before, but doing a more recent and magnificent style, shows their commitment to make it awesome. What an awesome way to start the album.

Domino Effect (ドミノエフェクト)

Now it’s solely new songs since here(Harunohi was digital single, but doesn’t count). Domino Effect caught me off guard. I heard it first at the ustream live, but didn’t expect to be this cutesy~happy. But once I heard the song in the album, I was wrong, the song had to be this way, it’s full of joy, funny moments, cool arrangement, usual harmonies. Everything about it doesn’t shout Goose House which I think was an unexpected decision, but when you see the final result, you just nod and start to listen again the song..over and over again. Great song to show new sounds from the band. Continue reading

Hikaru Nara (光るなら)

Ah…those marvelous feelings are remembered everytime I hear this song. It was easily the best A-side of last year and I’m so happy they decided to start with this song. My opinion just got better from the song. The solos from each member, the melody, the power, the harmonies, the everything. This song was just a way how Goose House grew in these last years now without their leader. Maybe his departure was the reason they evolved in their sound. So yeah, I have a lot of praise for this song, because it was the thing I needed last year in terms of music. One of the best songs of the album.

Oto no Naru Hou He (オトノナルホウヘ)

One of the best singles last year returns in the album, to have us then listening new songs. As for the song I haven’t changed much in opinion, since the song is really upbeat, playful and funny since you notice the middle verses which are really cool and entertaining. I feel this song has a lot of different elements mixed and compressed in a short song, but really impressive. The song was the perfect opportunity for new audience to know them. If you want to know what is Goose House, you need to listen to this song. Continue reading

Goose House – Hikaru Nara

hikaru nara

  1. Hikaru Nara (光るなら)
  2. Fuyu no Epilogue (冬のエピローグ)
  3. Hikaru Nara (光るなら)- Tv Size-
  4. Hikaru Nara (光るなら) [Instrumental]

Hikaru Nara (光るなら)

This new single from Goose House ditches the whole fun strategy of previous single and goes for a more serious look and sound with Hikaru Nara, this song which serves as OP for Shigatsu ha Kimi no Uso is a really good example of a great example that tries to emphasize the vocals of each member. This one has solo verses for each member and I’m glad it did, because I can appreciate each of them more. The arrangement is good using the usual set of the band adding some variations here and there, but what makes it better is the chorus which I think is the best part of the song. This song was really the reason I got into the band, easily this one showcases a sound they haven’t done that much and works really good for them. I’m quite fascinated with this A-side they made and I hope they have more like this in the near future.

Fuyu no Epilogue (冬のエピローグ)

Well, a more acoustic/stringy style is something I appreciate as well. In the verses you have only the voice and some guitar chords which expresses a more pure sound and simple. But the sound start to increase as the song continues with some piano and some other instruments which gives the song a more winter feel. Mostly the verses are from Manami(yay ^_^), but having more solo verses from the members shows that they can sing. I really like the chorus because the combination of strings with a depressive tone while they are playing guitar was a nice touch. Even the ending of the song shows that winter touch, This wasn’t as good as the A-side but I will give it more listens, because the acoustic live version was really good.

Is it worth listening? Yes! The A-side is really something

As this was their first single I heard from them I was overwhelmed by how good Hikaru Nara is. The song showcases great vocals and gets help with a great and kinda simple arrangement. I really like how they set apart from their previous single and how still they enjoy playing (their acoustic live song confirms this). Their B-side was a little more acoustic and simple yet depressive which works for me, but I need more listens (maybe listening the acoustic live will work) to fully appreciate it.

Goose House – Oto no Naru Hou He

Oto no naru hou he

  1. Oto no Naru Hou He (オトノナルホウヘ→)
  2. Koi ha Hira Hirari (恋はヒラひらり)
  3. Oto no Naru Hou He (オトノナルホウヘ→) -TV Size-
  4. Oto no Naru Hou He (オトノナルホウヘ→) [Instrumental]

Oto no Naru Hou He  (オトノナルホウヘ→)

My first time reviewing this amazing band. The 2nd ending for Silver Spoon was such an amazing premise when I found out about it months later of the series >.> The song is just so cool with many voices to make it so different from what I usually hear, adding that the several instruments (3 guitars, piano and more) used for the song and those funny segments like Manami singing like men instead of Johnny xD. The song is quick, varied and with good vocals from all of them. I really like the guitars here because they are fast in some sections and when I saw the live version it was so cool to hear and watch. I really hate not being able to enjoy it when released, but damn what a great A-side this was.

Koi ha Hira Hirari (恋はヒラひらり)

Now I know that the A-side was really good but I don’t know why these last weeks this song was my obsession and still is. The song seems to move in a more conventional way and could expect from more bands, but what sets it apart is the harmonies from all the members in the chorus which sounds really lovely. Adding different instruments (like wind instruments) for this song is what I really liked and that emotion brought by some of the members (yes, you Sayaka and Manami) was really fascinating. I love how they enjoy to perform and play music, and this is another song that proves it.

Is it worth listening? Yes!!

It was only a matter of time until I remember this band thanks to Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, and boy I regret hearing months later this single. Goose House is really a promising band that everyone should listen which already some people has done so. This single was the first since they became a 7 unit after some members left the band. And even without the previous leader, this single shows they are really amazing. The A-side was really promising and cool to enjoy when you just want to have fun and have a smile in your face. The B-side was/is my obsession thanks to the arrangement and vocals. Now I’m missing to review their latest one: Hikaru Nara.
